Stand out from the crowd by recognizing your skills

Many of us know much more than we realize. Job hunting is clearly easier when you know what experience you have and can communicate it to others in an interesting way.

Develop your job search skills

As a student member, you have free access to Eduhouse training. First, register for the online training courses by signing up in the OMA+ service in Member benefits, under Job search, career and studies. Then take advantage of these, for example:

Are you up to date or are you Ihan kassalla*?

Your student membership does not include membership in the unemployment fund.

If you are 18+ and working (e.g., summer job or part-time job), join the fund now!

This way, you are able to accumulate 12 months of employment condition during your studies and be eligible for earned income allowance if you are laid off or become unemployed after graduation.

You must join the fund at least one year before becoming unemployed, so don’t wait!

What is the fund? The mini-series Ihan kassalla*, written by Anna Brotkin, will help you get started. The series has already received hundreds of thousands of views!

*Ihan kassalla is a Finnish word play. Literally it means being at the cash register (or at the fund) but figuratively “ihan kassalla” means being totally lost or clueless of what is happening.
