Learn how to identify your own strengths, get tips for your resume, and receive expert advice on finding hidden job openings. Toivo, who is looking for a new job, says he received this kind of help – among other things – from YTK Spark. He recommends the job search services to others as well.
“The most important lesson was definitely how to condense and simplify my resume. Another was hidden job openings – how to look for them. Spark has been a great help, and I now have a better understanding of my own strengths.”
Toivo has been looking for a new job for about two and a half years. He is primarily seeking positions as CEO, regional director, sales director, or regional manager, but has also expanded his job search to include other job titles and various industries.
“I’m looking for jobs nationwide in Finland, as well as in Sweden and Norway.”
Toivo learned about “Spark,” the job search service offered by YTK, on the YTK website. He also participated in a job search webinar for members, which sparked an even stronger interest in Spark and its tools.
“As my job search dragged on, I decided to try every possible means to find a new job.”
Support for job hunting when you need it
Using the service has been easy, and Toivo says he has received a wide range of assistance. Among other things, he has taken advantage of resume and application templates, as well as job-search coaching, which helps him learn about hidden job openings and how to identify his skills. Toivo also praises Sparks webinars, whose recordings can be watched whenever it’s most convenient.
“Spark has given me concrete results and good ideas for job hunting. At the same time, I don’t try to be someone else – I’m just myself. So, in my job applications, I don’t try to please anyone; instead, I highlight my skills, strengths, and vision for the future if I were to be hired by that employer.”
Toivo also has tips for other job seekers.
“It’s a good idea to check out the employer’s website and social media channels in advance. Many interesting employers may also have hidden job openings that aren’t listed in the public job postings.”
Toivo recommends Spark to anyone looking for a new job.
“It’s definitely worth participating and giving it a try. You’re bound to pick up something useful, whether big or small.”
