The Kesätyö.fi service was launched for summer job applications at the beginning of the year. The service already has around 10 000 summer jobs available for young people to apply for. We are involved as the main partner in the service. The collaboration supports young people’s integration into working life and increased fund awareness.

The Children and Youth Foundation’s Kesätyö.fi service makes it easier to find summer jobs, which are fewer and more sought-after than ever. The aim of the service is to encourage more employers to offer young people their first summer job. We are involved in the service as a main partner.

Kesätyö.fi collects summer jobs from all over Finland and offers young people an easy way to find work for the summer. This collaboration directly supports the core tasks of the YTK community: promoting a better and more functional working life and supporting employment.

“Kesätyö.fi is an important partnership for us and a concrete investment in Finnish working life and the position of young people. A good working life is close to our hearts, and for most Finns, summer jobs are an important first contact with working life. It’s fantastic that we have been given a place as one of the main partners in the service,” says YTK’s Communications Director Ilona Kangas.

Responsibility and fund awareness

For YTK, cooperation is also a matter of responsibility. Social and societal responsibility is central to our operations, and supporting young people in their entry into working life plays an important role in this.

The purpose of the Kesätyö.fi service is to increase equality among young people when they are looking for summer jobs. The service can help those who do not have previous work experience or their own networks. It is also a good channel for students in various fields to find work.

“Helping young people get started in their careers is a responsible way to take care of them. It also supports our idea of ensuring better general security in working life,” says Ilona Kangas.

For YTK, the visibility of the service is also a way to raise young people’s awareness of unemployment funds. According to research, young people’s knowledge of unemployment funds is somewhat lacking, which can lead to them missing out on earnings protection.
