Student membership practices

  1. A full-time student living in Finland can become a student member.
  2. Students must be able to prove their right to study when using the benefits and services offered by YTK Worklife, for example by using a valid student card or by sharing their performance data via the study path.
  3. Student membership is subject to a fee for those joining on or after 1.1.2024. The membership fee is a fixed calendar yearly fee, which must be paid in full regardless of the time of year in which you join or leave the YTK Worklife. Student memberships that have started before 2024 will remain free of charge for two years, i.e. until 31.12.2025 at the latest.
  4. Student membership is valid until the end of the year of graduation. The student member is obliged to inform the YTK Worklife of the end or continuation of his/her studies.
  5. The student member cannot be a member of the YTK Unemployment Fund.
  6. When a student starts working, he/she may become a member of the YTK Unemployment Fund or a combined member of the YTK. To join, the student must meet the membership requirements of the YTK Unemployment Fund and/or the YTK Worklife.
  7. If a student member joins the YTK as a combined member in the middle of the year, membership of the YTK Worklife will continue at the student membership rate until the end of the current year and the YTK Unemployment Fund will invoice its share of the membership fee for the rest of the year. In the year following combined membership, the normal annual fees of both the YTK Unemployment Fund and the YTK Worklife will be invoiced. If a working student wishes to become a member of the Unemployment Fund only, he/she can terminate his/her membership with the YTK Worklife.
  8. A student member may be dismissed from YTK Worklife in the manner set out in the rules of the association.
