Mixed agreement

An employment contract can also be agreed as a combination of fixed-term and indefinitely valid employment contracts. A mixed agreement refers to a fixed-term employment contract that can be terminated during the agreed contract period. A contract that is agreed to be valid until further notice but which contains a clause stating that it will expire at the latest at a certain date is also considered a mixed agreement.

Mixed agreements may contain terms such as:

  • The employment contract is valid until further notice. However, it ends when the permanent employee Example Name returns to work from childcare leave.
  • The employment contract is valid for the duration of Example Name’s childcare leave. The contract may be terminated in accordance with chapter 7 of the Employment Contracts Act.
